Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is an international nonprofit
research for development (R4D) organization founded in 1967, led by a board of
directors and is supported primarily by the Consultative Group for Research
International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our R4D is anchored on the
development needs of SSA.
We develop agricultural solutions with our partners in the
fight against hunger and poverty by reducing the risks of producers and
consumers, improving crop quality and productivity, and generate wealth from
agriculture. We have over 100 internationally renowned scientists recruited in
approximately 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based on various
stations across Africa.
